Recovery and Accountability Isn’t Just for Addicts

Hey L,

This week is Valentine's day. If you didn't realize that, then consider this your gentle reminder to go out and get that overpriced greeting card ;)

However, jokes aside, it's important to acknowledge that for numerous couples facing recovery and the trauma caused by partner betrayal, these holidays can be a painful reminder of the loss they have experienced in terms of their marriage and intimacy.

As such, these occasions may trigger a desire to blame or point fingers.

And while certainly there is plenty of blame to go around in terms of the person who committed the "betrayal," the truth is things probably won't get much better unless both partners are committed to the process of healing, accountability, and recovery.

That said, this week Melissa Ruff, director of Live Free Wives, shares some of her thoughts and advice concerning this reality.

So, check out this week's post and let us know what you think in the comments.
