Last week I said that the resources available for women struggling with porn and sex addiction are far more limited than for men. And while that may not be fair, the truth is there are reasons for that.
In my opinion, one of the major reasons is that, based on our experience, women are much less inclined to define themselves as individuals who face challenges in the realm of sexuality, fantasies, and so on.
And why?
Because there still seems to be a widespread belief that porn and sex are a man's issue, not a woman's. And such notions serve to double down on the shame women already feel because of their unwanted behavior.
But that idea couldn't be more wrong or misguided.
