Connection Requires Commitment

Hey L,

This month we are focusing on this idea of being proactive with your recovery and/or healing efforts. In other words, you need to be the one who makes things happen, not the one waiting for things to happen.

And this is no exception when it comes to building sources of community and meaningful connection in your life.

I know this all too well.

When I was going through my own recovery I tended to let communication slide with my sources of support and accountability partners, thinking they would reach out to me when needed.

Guess what. Didn't happen.

And so often those relationships would tend to wither away, leaving me feeling alone and isolated yet again.

But my isolation was my fault. I didn't take responsibility for those relationships when I needed to and I lacked the commitment to maintaining them that I needed to have.

And that's the subject of this week's post, so check it out here and let us know what you think in the comments.
