Hey L,
This week I have a little something different for you.
A few months ago my daughter attended an event with me where I was asked to speak about porn, recovery, and shame. It wasn't a large event but out of the 50-70 people in attendance, I only talked to a small handful of people who wanted to know more about our ministry.
To be honest, this was nothing new to me.
Very few people ever want to talk to the "porn pastor" out of fear that other people will draw conclusions and make assumptions concerning the reason they approached me.
Yet for my daughter, it seemed odd.
She couldn't understand the obvious avoidance we experienced, in large part because sex, porn, and the like are all open for discussion in our home. It's not awkward for us.
But then she had to have her own awkward talk with me just a few weeks later about boys and growing up.
Both of these experiences caused her to do some real thinking and led to her writing a blog post she shared with me.
Understand, my daughter is not a blogger. But I wanted to share with you what she wrote because I think her perspective is insightful and untainted.
So check it out here and let us know what you think in the comments.
