Inspiration time,
One of our first Trends interviews (ever) was with Michael Acton Smith. He's the founder of Calm -- a meditation app doing $80m-a-year in revenue.
Before that, he was selling gadgets and toys on the internet in the late '90s and later, digital monsters to kids in the '00s.
But this interview with Michael focused on his meditation app, Calm.
He outlined how he and his cofounder were able to get 100,000 emails from a single webpage, his early hurdles and successes, their product differentiation strategy, and his visions for the future of digital businesses -- a very specific field of mental health being one of them.
There was one particular quote that stuck with us:
"Most of entrepreneurship is like pushing a rock up a hill. It's really bloody tough. But when you pick those right waves, there's nothing like it in the world. You just get blown along so quickly."
