I don't know about you, but as a guy I grew up believing all sorts of unhealthy things about what that meant in terms of my sexual appetites, responsibilities, and proneness to sexual compromise.
The worst thing is that as my desire for, and consumption of, porn increased, the way I thought and acted seemed to reinforce these negative stereotypes.
Stereotypes that compounded the shame of my reality.
The truth tho is that most of what I heard and read was incorrect. In fact, as I put more and more years between me and my addiction I saw just how wrong those gender role beliefs really were.
And so this month we are going to be diving into this topic a lot exploring many of the flawed and ill-conceived teachings and beliefs surrounding male sexuality both in the culture at large, but especially in church culture.
