View this email in your browser Hey y'all, Here are 10 things I thought were worth sharing this week: One method of writing that works for me.   I finished reading E.H. Gombrich's A Little History of the World, a book that made me want to just read old history books for the rest of the year. (I also read John Porcellino's King-Cat #79.)   I bought a wonderful batch of art books: Ronald Searle's America, a gigantic, gorgeous collection of his travel drawings; Moon: An Illustrated History; E.H. Gombrich's The Story of Art; and Nathaniel Russell's Fliers, a tear-out collection of 20 of his excellent fake fliers. (The dust jacket even folds out into a poster of a blank telephone pole. Really fun.)   I drew some diary comics about a hawk that hung out in our yard for almost nine hours. (Speaking of diaries: check out Ian McKellan's 20-year-old diary from the set of The Lord of the Rings.)   Amos Kennedy, Jr. is raising funds to restore a "pile of bricks" for his printmaking studio in Detroit, and the video is hilarious. (More work on his Instagram.)   Parents: Some friends got us issues of OKIDO for Christmas, and my kids are really into them. (They're also into Everything Awesome About Dinosaurs, a book by the great Mike Lowery.)   Music: I'm a new fan of Sturgill Simpson — I especially like Metamodern Sounds in Country Music. (My new theme song: "Think I'm gonna just say home and make art, not friends!")   TV: My wife and I binged the second season of Sex Education, a show that's smutty and sweet. (I've been noticing lately how many of my favorite shows fit that description: Fleabag, Mrs. Maisel, etc.)   RIP Terry Jones of Monty Python.   Reminder: Look up! Thanks for reading.
